What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a solution to replacing missing teeth. An implant is placed in an area missing a tooth, essentially replacing the missing tooth root. A custom made crown is then made to attach to this implant providing a seamless replacement for a patient's natural tooth.
From a single missing tooth to full-arch treatment, our clinicians have the requisite training to ensure we can provide our patients with high quality dental implant therapy in a safe environment.
Am I suitable?
The primary factor affecting suitability for dental implants is the amount of bone available to place the implants into. Every person is unique and so to be able to answer this question our clinicians will assess you as an individual. Part of this process involves organising a detailed scan, which gives insight into the amount of bone available. Even in cases where sufficient bone isn’t available, there are tried and tested methods of grafting bone in order to overcome these issues.
Aren’t they expensive?
Dental implants are perceived as a complex and expensive treatment. Due to this conception, the UK currently lags behind the rest of the world, with four times less patients benefiting from this life changing treatment compared to similarly developed European countries.
We feel strongly that cost should not be a barrier to providing this treatment to the general public. With this in mind, we leverage cutting-edge technology, allowing us to plan our implants using guided-surgery techniques. This simplifies treatment, reduces cost and increases predictability.
In addition to a reduced cost, we offer patients the ability to split the cost of implant treatment.
Will it hurt?
Dental-phobia is one of the most common phobias in the UK. Unfortunately, phobia of dentists is what has led to many patients losing their teeth in the first place. Dental implants are a safe, highly predictable treatment, and - like all treatments performed at our practice - are carried out with patient comfort as the primary consideration. There is no more discomfort in the placement of a dental implant than there is any other treatment in dentistry.
Our clinical team will esure you are at ease, completely numb and that your aftercare is thorough in order to minimise any discomfort and result in a speedy recovery.
